In my opinion there are two kinds of people . . . those who enjoy the early morning hours and those who have the capacity for rational thought. I know, I know, my inbox will soon be overwhelmed with messages extolling the virtues, the advantages, the benefits, and the rewards of the early morning hours. I’m not against the early morning hours I just wish they started a little bit later.
So, I was up “early” this morning and happened to come across a proverb that made me laugh.
“If you loudly greet your neighbor early in the morning he will think of it as a curse” (Proverbs 27:14)
I was laughing because of how true this is! I wonder if that’s what my neighbors and family members think of my morning antics? For that which makes it easy for people to hear me on Sunday’s – “Hello, my name is Randy and I am a loud talker” – could be rightly considered a curse.
That being said, here’s my thought for the day . . . As you interact with your neighbors and your co-workers first thing in the morning be polite and friendly, courteous and quiet. Who knows, maybe by our quiet lives we may win respect and be a blessing to others, (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12).
Have a quiet day!

Hey, Randy!
I couldn’t agree more. I’m on vacation this week and have slept as late as possible every day. I’ve heard all my life from those “Oh you missed the most beeyootiful sunrise” people. But my brain doesn’t kick in until around 10:00.
So I think I’ll keep enjoying the quiet. And stay up late while I can.

perhaps you can work on a more subtle approach, a la Johnny Cash: “Hello, I’m Randy Wray” Then the crowd goes wild…..but don’t wait for that. There’s probably too many non-early morning-ers in the audience on a Sunday.
Meantime, maybe this proverb explains your situation east of you.
I hate getting up early. It’s so unnatural. I’m 30 years from retirement, and I have to wait for the bus under the stars.
I’m too tired to shout at my neighbour at that point. Screw ‘em.

According to an article I just read this evening about Vladimir Putin (who is as disciplined as they come in terms of personal habits), he seldom wakes up until 11am in the morning. He checks into the Kremlin at about 12pm for the day’s business.
However he seldom goes to bed until 2am in the morning. Have about that for a “late riser”? Clearly, the English maxim “early to bed, early to rise” does not have much of a cachet in Russia where the article asserts people are late risers.
Waking up early and being a nuisance do not have happen simultaneously and “early” is well relative. And quite seriously do mornings HAVE to be quiet? I guess it depends if you are a morning person or not.
I do acknowledge the virtues of a quiet life but then friendliness and courteousness require some interaction. That said, I am happy to have come upon some scriptural support for my introverted personality.
