Nine o’clock and all is . . .

. . . quiet. Let’s hope it stays that way! Not much planned for today. Waiting on a repairman today to fix our Air Conditioner. The company promised he would arrive sometime between now and when Jesus comes back. We are planning a trip to Costco (on a Friday are you nuts?). Some friends of ours are moving, in a couple of weeks, to Texas. So they are coming over for dinner tonight.
That’s one adjustment we’ve had to make living in this area, a very transient place. We’ve made friends with people time and time again only to see them move away as jobs take them away. Beth and I, in a joking way, often comment as to who we should get to move away next. It would be simple, we just befriend them!
So for now it will be a calm day, some final edits on the ol’ message and powerpoint slides for Sunday and goofing off with the kids. We’ll enjoy our dinner with our friends as we don’t know when we will have our next opportunity.

Enjoy your dinner. It’s good they all got to know you. And you can probably travel anywhere in the USA and not have to get a hotel room.
What time you going to Costco? I’d go, even on a Friday. Heck, I’ve even been there on Saturday morning. And what’s the title of the sermon?

The AC man is finished so were headed to Costco in about 1/2 an hour.
I’m doing a series entitled Blessed Are The Peacemakers. This week is Lesson 2 - Conflict Provides Opportunities

Last times with friends are special memories. I still remember the last night we went over to Greg and Janice’s house when they were about to move to Long Beach. As we stepped into their disassembled home, the home that held so many memories now contained boxes and bare walls. It was a shock to my senses. I asked God to make it possible for our families to see each other and He has provided those opportunities to which I’ve been very thankful.
As a side note, when are making your trip to Florida?

Make the shrimp/guacamole thing we had last time we were together at Lee and Sue’s. I’ve only made it a couple of times since then, but each time, I think of you guys, sitting on the deck eating shrimp until we popped! Aahhh…good times.

I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one that tinkers with the sermon all week long. For me, the PowerPoint is done…I guess…and the message is finished…for now. But ask me again 8:30 Sunday morning because who knows what it will have evolved into by then.
Blessed are the Peacemakers. Sounds like a good series.
