My mother-in-law is here visiting so it’s a perfect day to go fishing. Now don’t read anything unkind into that last sentence. The fact that she is here means that Beth, on her day off, can run around with her mother. This frees me, on my day off, to pursue a day of fishing. It is raining but you know what they say:

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you’ll hardly ever see him on the weekend.

Or something like that.

I will be going with one of our church members so technically it could be considered “work.” I know, I know someone has to do it. Today, we will focus on the fishing, lake stories of Jesus. We will cast our ‚Äúnet‚Äù on the whatever side it takes.

Enjoy the fishing time. When a friend of mine at church and I try to play a round of golf, we call the act of getting permission from our wives a “Kitchen Pass.” Enjoy the KP.

Biblically it’s work if you share your loaves and fishes, and have a fish fry for the saints and sinners.

There are some clues and symbolism of fishing while it rains that Randy is giving to us. The fish is the sign of the Christian or Christ. And the fish is constantly in the water, thus proving that immersion is the true baptism. If the fish is removed from the water it dies, thus ending the once saved always saved debate. Then the fisherman comes while it is raining to remove the fish from water into water. From immersion to shower. From baptism to sprinkling. Thus fishing when it rains is a metaphor for the Holy Roman Catholic Church (spectacles, testicles, wallet, watch). So what does it say about the fisher, Padre Randy?

I never cease to amaze myself at just how much work I can find when I involve church members!
Today (so far) is a 2-attemp at word recognition

Must be Friday! And there was a full moon this week, too……….

I don’t know about the “fisher” but whatever you do, please keep the tackle box in the “front” of the boat! I can’t focus on fishing unless I can see the tackle box.

What is even more cool than being able to go fishing and call it work is the fact that if you consider it work and talk about Jesus, you can write it off on your taxes:)! God bless your fishing trip!

I hope you have better luck with your buddy than we had the last time we went fishing.

But wait, you’ve already been fishing and are now officially back at work. So enjoy being with your mother-in-law. gimlclmw
