The pies are made with only one phone call to my mom - that stupid pecan pie. I let a couple of you talk me into the pecan and it looks like we can turn it into a protein shake. Here’s the lineup:
1 - Apple pie (granny smith apples of course)
1 - Pumpkin pie
1 - Liquid pecan pie
4 - Personal size pumpkin pie
1 - Personal size apple
The house is filling up. Time to turn on a football game and vanish.
Have a good day today.

We made two of those pecan pies exactly by that recipe and they were GREAT! So WHO is the variable factor?

Here’s the good recipe for pecan pie:
1 cup Karo syrup
1 cup sugar
3 eggs (med / large … 4 if small eggs)
3 T. melted butter
1 cup chopped pecans
Pie crust (best if home made)
Using a fork, mix ingredients, putting butter in last. Don’t use mixer! Bake at 300 for 30 minutes, then 275 for 30 minutes. Shake to see if “wiggly” in the middle. Let it cook until the middle is firm but not so long that the crust burns.
When pie cools, top with mwgzsc

I’m glad your pie “jelled.” I’ll have to try that recipe. I haven’t been great with pecan pies, either. However, I’ve discovered a new sweet potato dish recipe, if anyone’s interested.

Ah‚Ķ Pecan pie. We can’t get pecans very often, and Karo syrup does not exist, but some friends brought them back from their last USA trip.
Hope you had a blast. What we heard on the phone sounded good.

Brady: It’s difficult to even imagine you having a sister / brother-in-law living so close to the eastern edge of the US that they would not ship you some Karo syrup and pecans. After all, they are just a stone’s throw from Costco, where the pecans are somewhat affordable.
