You can’t have much more excitement than thanksgiving with us. We had a nice dinner. We played a silly board game. We remarked at the force and velocity of the wind outside. When we heard the two thuds it gave rise to some concern. Nothing dramaticus like a car going through your house but the top half of a large oak tree blew over. Came right down and broke through our fence and the front side fence of our neighbors. The day before I had taken down the batting cage. Had I not, it would have been crushed. Had the tree fallen the other way it would have come through the house. Makes for a good remember when story. Hope your day has been less eventful.

At last! A new blog the day after Thanksgiving. I am one of 8 full-time employees on my floor today, and it is as quiet as a Monday-morning church! Less than 3 hours to go…..I can hardly wait.

I knew the tree story would be in your blog! I’m glad nobody was hurt. Reminds me of last year when a limb fell from a tree in our back yard, knocking over the swing Doris and I had been in half an hour before.

We were at the Dubas’ house yesterday and I forgot my glasses. So we went back up this morning and when Arlene turned on the kitchen lights (recessed) one of the bulbs exploded. I’ve never seen that happen, but had it happened yesterday it would have showere the food with glass shards and possibly hit some of the people. I told Arlene we could have had some good law suits against their homeowner’s insurance … could have made for a much larger Christmas this year!

Glad you and your family escaped harm from the falling tree. We travelled approximately eight hrs each way to South Carolina to be with my in-laws (we are back now). I am glad you didn’t have to stand outside for the “translation” session. I plan to hit up the ol’ blog a bit more regularly henceforth.

We finaly got rid of the pesky fog blanket that has covered us for the past week’s. Thanksgiving day was a wonderful rainy day with periods of downpouring that made me thankful for the new tires we were riding on. No wind, just the falling of rain and good times with family and friends siting around the fireplace playing table games and snacking.

No heavy winds crashing on personal property. Just the smells of frying turkeys, covered in creole seasoning, and fried to perfection.
