A snow / ice storm blew through yesterday and all the schools closed early. Today, however, feels like the first day of spring. Crazy, crazy weather.

We had dinner last night with the family of Madison‚Äôs best friend from school. The dad came from an Amish background. His grandfather was Amish until he decided to buy a tractor. The tractor purchase led to other modern innovations and now the family runs and owns two RV dealerships, right in the heart of Amish country, in Pennsylvania. With all due sensitivity and respect, because I really don’t want to make fun of the culture and ways of the Amish people, I couldn‚Äôt help but chuckle at the thought of the slippery slope.

Tonight it’s dinner with some friends and off to the Kennedy Center for this evenings performance of The Messiah. We’ve never been to the Kennedy Center so it should be a memorable experience.

There have been many a slippery slope with modern technology!

Have a great time and a good weekend.

Makes me want to go out and buy an R.V. for the church.

Thinking of R.V.’s reminds me of “Cousin Eddie” on “Christmas Vacation.” I love the scene when Cousin Eddie is dumping the “black water” down the storm sewer and says to his neighbor, “The jlrqg is full.”

And you thought I was going to say a bad word.

Your completely useless response to my last post had me laughing pretty good.

The thought of an Amish tractor salesman finished the job. But please stop. Laughing hurts.

Kennedy Center? Messiah? I’m fairly jealous here. I’m going to a performance of Strauss pieces tonight. Of course, I’m substituting the Selland Arena for the Kennedy Center but….

I suppose if one can’t stay home watching Christmas Vacation on a home theater system with surround sound, Kennedy Center is probably the next best thing.

First Steve Martin and now the Messiah at the Kennedy Center. I know the Kennedy Center is influential, but who knew they could pull this off?

An Amish tractor salesman is kind of like a church of Christ pianist isn’t it?

We have Minonites just north of us in Tennessee. I have always wondered why they ride into town to shop at the convience stores.

I must say though, I respect them for their “stick-to-it-tive-ness.”
