It is now early evening Monday and it has been raining since Sunday evening. The intensity and volume of the rain has been amazing. We’ve never seen a rainfall like this since our time in Arlington. Our basement flooded last night so my brother-in-law and I took turns running the sump pump. The church basement flooded as well (including my office). We were up until 1AM at the church and later here at the house.
What a treat we had on Saturday. We took a lunch cruise on the Potomac river and got a water view of the monuments and sights of DC.
Our band played well Saturday night and it was fun to have my sister and brother-in-law join us for the event.
Today I began to pack up my books - the flooded offfice has accelarated my packing timeline.
We spent the afternoon at the Dulles Air & Space museum. I’ll include some pictures later.
Hope your Monday was a dry one!

Be careful what you write on a blog! Your A/C facts had some type of post-dated effect on me as I spent yesterday installing a window A/C and then un-installing it when it failed to produce enough cold air for the room and then purchasing / installing a stronger unit. I can’t think of any other reason why I would do such a thing other than your influence over my life.
I know my blogs have a strong effect on others. I’ve heard some people have given up reading altogether!!

I saw all the pictures today on the web of the flooding in DC. I hope you survive it all. We’re wet in Florida and glad to have it after such a dry season.
Peace.

You’re tossing out buckets of water from your office and it’s 102 degrees here in Portland. What’s wrong with this picture??

Sorry about all the muck and mire! I wondered if the church basement flooded but didn’t think about your house, since I didn’t know you had a basement. Evidently, we got out of the area just in time! Left Friday morning, and some clouds followed us all the way. At Bristol, we stopped for the night because a thunderstorm appeared imminent, but it never materialized. A positive side may be that all the flooding will deter any future mice problems???
