I. t’s been a while since I’ve seen the stars in such a way as here "deep in the heart" of Texas. Too many lights in our former neck of the woods. Too much traffic, too many freeways, the provencial life is becoming quite attractive. We just sit out by the pool and look up.
Speaking of stars. While I was working away at Hastings a young lady approached the counter of the coffee bar ordered her usual and said "this will probably be my last visit since I’m moving to LA to become a movie star."
We leave today to continue our journey westward. We fly out of DFW and land in Sacramento around midnight tonight. Time for one more visit to Sonic and a refreshing Dr. Pepper with a splash of vanilla.

Yes, go west young man. A midnight flight does not sound fun. But have fun anyway…
Hope you don’t land at midnight and then have to wait an hour or longer to deboard (is that a word?) the plane! Either way, welcome home!!!
We have Sonic out here too…and they’re open late.
Hope you the best in your move brother. It is an awesome thought that God knows every start by name.
I tried the whole movie star thing the last time I traveled to LA. It didn’t work out for me and now I’m back in Memphis slinging sermons every Sunday morning. (Maybe if I’d tried a Mel Gibson stunt there in Malibu… nah! - none of you guys would have come and bailed me out and sold the pictures to the Inquirer).
John, it wasn’t your fault. It was your supporting cast that held you back. Give it another try!
So the girl headed for LA, Randy, what did she look like? Because I know some people who know some people…..
