Almost ten months of prayer, fasting and discernment of God’s leading came together yesterday as we began our ministry with the Family of God at Central. It has been a difficult transition in that we cherish and miss our friends from Arlington. It has been an revealing transition in that the calling of the Lord continues to be affirmed.
To begin my preaching and teaching ministry here at Central I was anointed (with oil) by one of the shepherds. Sobering, humbling, inspiring, encouraging and motivating are just a few of the words that come to mind. It is the second time in my life I have been anointed by a godly saint. It was the first time in my ministry career to receive anointing as a sign of dedication to the ministry of the Word.
I knew God was leading us here. I didn’t fully understand why he was leading us here but knew he was leading us here. Yesterday I began to see, with greater clarity the reason why.

Heard all about yesterday. Parents said it was great. So glad you guys are off to a good start.
That’s exciting! I can’t imagine a better way to begin a ministry except maybe to hear a voice from heaven! Seriously.
What a way to start off your ministry at “Central West†since our church is also named Central. May God bless your new ministry.
It’s great to have your decisions made in faith affirmed as being the right ones. Now to get down to work. I remember Lynn Anderson telling a class that the first two years at a church you can do nothing wrong, the second two years you can do nothing right, and after that comes effective ministry.
I’ve been officially anointed a few times in my life. They have all been very special.
I was recently told by one of our members that I was NOT anointed and they were looking forward to having a minister who was. I would have dumped a whole jar of Wesson over his head if I’d had one.
Congrats! Divine anointing is powerful.
Peace.
WOW! Must have ben an awesome experience. I pray for you and your new work.
You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers almost constantly. I’m so glad the future looks positive in your new location. To have a beginning like that, and with the Lord’s leading……..that’s great!
