Don’t Worry

"Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks.  And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."  (Philippians 4:6-7)

Stop worrying.  The bible commands us not to worry, about anything.

  • Tell that to the family in the surgical waiting room.
  • Tell that to the family waiting for a loved one to die.
  • Tell that to the child that is depressed.
  • Tell that to the teen struggling to meet the constant pressures and demands.
  • Tell that to the parent trying to hold it all together.

Sometimes I wonder if the gospel according to Bobby McFerrin might do more good than bible quoting robots.

We all worry.  It’s not something we can really stop doing.  When we can replace worry with prayer we are on the road to security and peace.

Quite frankly, I’m worried about this blog and what people might say in response!

I don’t know who Boby McFerrin is, but I do know about worry. It’s hard not to worry when things are going on around you that encompass those on your list and a thousand other facets of life. Being anxious for nothing is a measure of faith I have not achieved. I was recently spasm-ing out about something close to my heart, and a dear friend told me I needed a drink! I’m so glad that dear friend didn’t hit me over the head with the NT. I love it, and love that dear friend, but I’m afraid I identified with the advice I got far more than I would have being preached at (even tho you could call me a tee-totaler and the drink of choice was Dr. Pepper!). Does that make me a failure as a follower of the Lord? I sure hope not…….

    I’ll join in the “pun-fest” -
It “worries” me when you’re dead on with one of your blogs.

Good post Bro. We do worry but as you said, as long as we don’t stay in that state and take the time to pray during our times of worries, I think that is a good thing.

Makes me almost want to be “Jamacian.”

Love the format change. The picture is beautiful.

I used to worry about you. Now I don’t.

Look at the slick new blog site.

I’m going to stop worrying and make the move away from the CoC. Tired of being preached at by branches of Fox News.
