She would have turned 16 this past week. Unfortunately sweet is not a word that will be associated with the passing of her birthday. She was killed in an automobile accident last Saturday night. Her family and friends, along with members of our community of faith, will gather today to pay tribute to her very short life.
I went seven years at Arlington without doing a funeral. We’ve been here in Stockton two months and my first funeral will be for this child.

You will be in my prayers my brother as well as this family. I cannot imagine the heartache they must be feeling right now.
God bless. I will pray, also. What a terrible loss……but I know first-hand your abilities to comfort, and I know you will be a blessing to the family.
I am so sorry to hear that news. We will keep her family in our prayers as the church family ministers to them.
Without any information whatosever on what you did, or what you said, I can say without hesitation that you did a wonderful job, your words brought peace and comfort to the family, you truly honored the girl’s life, and most of all, I am proud of you.
By the time I read this, you’ve probably already done the service, but I know you did a great job. But what a baptism of fire back into the world of funerals!? I got a call as I was going over the Grape Vine that I have my first funeral on Monday morning w/ the new mortuary that now employs me.
This has been a week of dealing with death for those whom I love. I haven’t had to deal with it directly, but I’ve become overwhelmed with emotion for those who have.
Breathe deep, hug your family, get a good night sleep.
