25 Oct 06 The Cat Came Back . . .

. . . not the very next day but a few days later.

Our five hundred dollar cat escaped Sunday night.  The highlight of her existence, back in Virginia, was to run out of the house and spend a couple of hours under the shed.  Doesn’t make much sense to have nine lives and spend all that time under the shed.  Fotunately I was not the responsible party for allowing the cat to escape.  We left the garage door open a smidge and waited to see if she would come back.

We imagined she was in feline heaven not because she had expired but because she was enjoying exploring.  Of course I did remark about how it would have been nice had she ran away before we spent the five hundred (or more) dollars to bring her with us.

There she was this morning in the garage, dirty as can be, with that look on her face that said "where did the shed go"?

Our cat “Buddy,” likes to play a similar game at our front door. Unsuspecting guests show up, open the door only to see Buddy bolt for the great outdoors. Buddy, knowing where his “Friskies are buttered” never goes beyond our sidewalk and waits to be captured.

I’m glad the crazy, cross-eyed cat came back. She must really love you, even though you had her operated on.

Can’t help but worry about them when they are gone like that. Almost like a child being lost. Glad you have the cat back … in time to spend massive amounts of money on it in the future.

I have never seen your family as cat people. You are definately dog people. That is why you are having problems with the cat, or perhaps why the cat is having problems with you.
Either way, what you need is a dog. Just be sure to completely empty your home of all speaker wire before you bring him home.

    $500.00 on a cat?????!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently the cat don’t know that or is like most cats, very unappreciative.

A friend told me just last night at church that someone asked him if he liked cats. He said, “Yes, but I don’t think I could eat a whole one!” Ha!!

    Not funny, Keith! :)

I’m glad your kitty came home.

I never thought of myself as a “cat guy,” but recent tests have proved differently. Given the choice between keeping our cat and feeling better (according to my allergist), I’m keeping the cat.

Does a cross-eyed cat think she has twice as many owners..er..staff? If so, does that mean you can do half as much for her and make her think she’s getting twice as much for it? What motivates people to have a cat as a pet, anyway?
