I’m starting to see more evidence of Christmas spirit. The curious thing is the evidence of Christmas spirit comes later and later each year. I wonder if there is a direct correlation between this and the earlier and earlier retailers display Christmas items?
Here are a few evidences of Christmas spirit I’ve observed:
1. Drivers letting others drivers go ahead of them.
2. People holding the door open for others.
3. Extending a holiday greeting. This is a curious one. How come we don’t normally exchange pleasantries all other times of the year? "And happy groundhog day to you too, sir."
Common courtesies, such as these, go a long way to improve our interaction with one another. Wouldn’t it be grand to be cheerful and merry in June?

Around here you don’t hear as many gunshots at night and the police helicopter is not overhead as often. Talk about a courtesy!!

In beautiful downtown West Cocoa, Florida the wild boars and bull gators give you a bit more head start this time of year before attacking. That is unless of course you’re a (whatever that is) “Buckeye.”

I wish I could say I had witnessed Christmas cheer around here. Sadly no. Traffic is awful and manners worse. On the other hand, it is lovely weather for golf and I can pick my foursome.

Funny that you should mention “Happy Groundhog Day!” This February 2nd will be a special one. In case I haven’t mentioned it, I am retiriing from FDIC, and my last day to work is February 2nd. (And I might add, I am retiring at a very young age!)
God bless you, Randy, and Beth, Madison, and Reese with a great Christmas.
