We are now parents of a teenager!
I’m not sure if the journey from 12 to 13 is more of a milestone for the child or for the parents.
Madison turned 13 on the 13th and we celebrated in grand style.
She is still very much one of those innocent 13 year olds. Her heart is tender and pure. She embodies the many virtues and qualities we who are adults need to emulate.
She loves to read and shop and play softball. She also runs our Keynote presentation on Sunday with precision and skill.
We are so thankful for her and proud of her for so many reasons (even if she thinks High School Musical and Jump In are the best movies ever).

She is a good girl, and fun to be with!

If you don’t think High School Musical is one of the best movies at my house, you just better, “gitcha, gitcha, gitcha, gitcha, head in the game!” I caught my daughter(16) watching the “pop-up” version the other day. What’s really sad is, I got caught up in it and found myself watching it. What’s the world coming to?
Hey, welcome to “teens-ville.” I have 4 of them you know. 14, 14, 16, 19. I just doesn’t get any better than that! It may be a little more complicated than the early years, but our love for them just grows and grows–even if you want to just “pop’em upside the head” now and again.
God bless man and thanks for your help with my blog.

You have every reason to be proud of Madison (and Reece). She is a delightful (and I very seldom use that word) young lady! Welcome to the world of teenagers … from the parent end.

Happy Birthday to Madison!

Now let the real parenting begin! My youngest is about to turn 16 so that I will have two teen drivers in the house. That’s when the rubber meets the road so to speak.
Peace.

I promise I didn’t steal the “birthday blog” idea. I wrote mine before coming here. Swear.
I know this sounds twisted, but I can’t wait for James for to become a teenager. Having been around them for 20 years, I get them better than I do 5 year-olds. You may just really enjoy the next few years a LOT.
Happy birthday, Madison!
