ZOE Fresno was a breath of fresh air. Truthfully, I was actually surprised by this. I don’t say this as something disrespectful or unkind. We all know the reality of going to a major conference (on a larger scale) and attending the same conference in a different venue (on a smaller scale). While there are things lost in translation there are some great things about the new language and the new cultural setting.
The smaller venue allowed for greater interaction between class teachers and students. And yes, it might surprise you to learn that I attended all but one of the class sessions. Wait a minute. When I attend a conference with Greg I don’t attend classes. When I attend a conference with Beth I attend classes. What could this possibly mean?
Taking Beth’s lead we sat in on a class (there were three of us in the class) and it was without out a doubt a God moment. The class session gave us direction and insight into our youth ministry here at Central. We both went away knowing that whatever other good the ZOE conference did (and there was much more) God met us in the classroom and we heard him speak.

So you’re saying the Fresno Zoe is somewhat comparable to the Gibson Guitar Factory in Nashville?

Good for Beth…here’s one for her.
Baseball Fans In Heaven
Two buddies, Bob and Earl, were among the biggest baseball fans in America. Their entire adult lives, Bob and Earl discussed baseball history in the winter, and they pored over every box score during the season. They went to
sixty games a year. They even agreed that whoever died first would try to come back and tell the other if there was baseball in heaven.
One summer night, Bob passed away in his sleep after watching the Yankee victory earlier in the evening. He died happy.
A few nights later, his buddy Earl awoke to the sound of Bob’s voice from beyond.
“Bob is that you?” Earl asked.”Of course it’s me,” Bob replied.
“This is unbelievable!” Earl exclaimed. “So tell me, is there baseball in heaven?”
“Well I have some good news and some bad news for you. Which do you want to hear first?”
“Tell me the good news first.”
“Well, the good news is that yes, there is baseball in heaven, Earl.”
“Oh, that is wonderful! So what could possibly be the bad news?”
“You’re pitching tomorrow night.”

So what you’re saying is you need to bring Beth to get Greg to the lectures.
Sounds like your one class was worth the trip.

Meeting God in the moment . . . what could be better!
Surely all of my brothers and sisters will attend classes at Pepperdine with me, out of deference to their weaker brother.
Peace.
