You know you want to sing along so go ahead . . .
You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your money when youre sittin at the table.
Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done.
I’m not much of a gambler. But I’m in Vegas doing sermon research and decided to take the plunge.
Without much hesitation, as I briefly scanned the menu, I ordered the cheapest thing I could find.
I expected the $12 hamburger to be the best hamburger I’ve ever eaten OR to come with a side of chips (the round, colored kind used in the gaming area).
It was a gamble that didn’t pay off.
I don’t see how anyone can afford to gamble in the Casino’s here. The food is ridiculously expensive. Forget airport or ballpark food prices. These hotels are ahead by a longshot.

I’ve been to LV twice and have no desire to ever return. One reason is that everything is so expensive there. The other is I tire of having porn cards thrust in my face about every six steps I take to go anywhere. Not to mention, it’s HOT in Vegas when I’ve been there.

I had read that the casinos had moved away from the $3.00 steak dinners that once prevailed. That was under the old model of the high rollers they targeted who basically subsidized everything else. Now that they’re targeting mom, dad & the kids for family vacations, we’re the ones subsidizing the pyramids, safaris & other behemoths that constitute the new Las Vegas. You’re a week too late. Last week you could have seen the old Stardust imploded.

As my redneck friend back home would say: “You better get your country a** out of Vegas before that old devil gets a hold of you.”
If you gamble, aren’t food and drinks free?
Peace.

I had no idea that food was expensive there. I thought it was cheap too. But at least you are in very good company. Do you get to eat with her?

I remember the days of the $2.00 buffet. Alas, Vegas is all about gambling and air conditioning the sidewalk now.

Well I guess I won’t be vacationing on Vegas anytime soon.
