Back In The Saddle

The best thing about spring break, by far, is the time you get to spend with the fam and no real schedule.  You don’t have to travel to exotic locations and spend a lot of money to enjoy time together (though there’s nothing wrong with that).  You can be just as happy together in your backyard as in a 5 star resort.  Of course, you can be just as miserable together in the same situations.  I read a vacation advice column that said to limit you stay at a resort to 3 to 4 days.  If you have more time on vacation go somewhere else but keep it to 3 or 4 days.  The idea being that even on vacation variety is good.

I said all this to say I hate the Sunday after Easter.  (You can’t make smooth transitions like this unless you are a professional - don’t try this at home!)

I love the effort everyone makes to attend on Easter Sunday.  I love the energy and the atmosphere.  What about the following Sunday?  Every year the Sunday after Easter I remind myself "next year, take this Sunday off!"

We’re setting up the scaffolding again today to finish our projector install.  My goal is not to start the week in the hospital.  If we finish the install that’s just a bonus.

Welcome back from the trip.  You’re setting up scaffolding to install a projector?  Are you building a drive-in theater?  I promise (you have to probably be over 40 to understand this line) not to cut the speaker wire and run off with the speaker if I ever visit.

Instead of installing a projector, we bought all the members iPods so they can just download the Sunday presentation. No one was killed in the process.

Now I know why I landed the plum "Sunday after Easter" assignment.  It all makes sense to me now.

Sounds like your post Easter Sunday was a little like ours. We often have record low attendance on the Sunday after Easter. We had a great response to our service and you’ve read what happened with me after the service.

We’re in the process of spending about $40,000 on our sound and video systems but we have about 37 feet up to get to our ceiling in our multipurpose.

    Peace.

Our Easter attendance is lower because of the sunrise service. But this past Sunday was a good day all around.Scaffolding? You’re kidding! In Arlington I know of some guys who placed tables over the pews and then stood a ladder on the table! You don’t need scaffolding.Be safe! We need you in Long Beach in two weeks.
