News From Mexico II

When it rains it pours and no one knows that better than the group from Oregon.  Trouble is, trouble continues to find the Oregon group.

During the evening devotional an alleged person (or persons) snuck into the sleeping quarters and stole luggage and personal goods from the girls and Tim, the fearless leader.

Cameras, laptops and clothes were the replaceable items stolen.  Though replaceable is a dumb word because you still have to deal with the emotions of losing such things to theft AND you still have to replace such items.

The critical item stolen was the accordion folder containing birth certificates and other documentation to get the group back into the US.  We will spend today trying to sort that wrinkle out and figure out how to get the group back into the country.

You can continue checking the Gateway Church Mexico Mission Blog though all the pictures from yesterday were on the camera and the laptop that was stolen.

That is BAD news about the theft! I guess Satan is working overtime to discourage Tim and his group. On the other hand, never assume anything is safe! To leave laptops and cameras unattended was a major lapse in sanity, whether in Mexico or USA.

So sorry to hear about the loss of stuff and documents. Hope the docs show up in some garbage can somewhere. Be safe. Glad you are all in good hands.

Ohhhh - that is just sickening. Sorry to hear such trouble is plaguing the group; hopefully it will not be a major distraction for the ministry work at hand.

So sorry to hear about that. I pray that God will guide them home.

Bummer! So sorry to hear this. I’m glad stealing “stuff” was all the perpetrators had on their mind, though. Prayers for continued safety and passage home for them…….and all of you.

My heart goes out to Tim and the Oregonians. Having had my trailer broken into I know that feeling of violation. Having had someone try to break into our van while I was sleeping in it (and Greg and Keith were touring the Dream Center in L.A.) I know the terror.
