Krispy Kreme is closing today in Stockton. My first impulse was to rush out and buy a couple of dozen in solemn memory. The more I thought about it the more it seemed appropriate to just spend a moment in silence. I do realize that, unless a Guitar Center opens in Stockton, Greg may never come visit me again.
Besides trouble with the SEC and way too much over-expansion, was it just a tasty, hot, glazed fad?

I suspect calories & no nutritional value had nothing to do with it either.
btw, thanks for the tip on the Dangerous Book for Boys. I saw your post & got it while on the road for A. who turned 11 last Tuesday. Superb recommendation….he loved it and we already have commenced making a battery!

My eyes are “glazed” over with sadness for your loss. Would some Sonny’s BBQ help you with the transition?

Call me heathen, but I don’t think KK’s are all that great. I prefer the ones from Safeway.
It’s a fad that will lose sales, because people are tired of being fat, but there will still be KK’s around, just not in Stockton I guess.

So long as that restaurant remains open where you took us to eat (twice), Stockton will have at least some attraction. However, you have my deepest condolences.

Sad sad day in Stockton. I will think of you each time I eat a glazed one in Florence.
