Permit The Equation

Anyone who has participated in home remodeling or construction understands the two most important variables that are difficulty to predict:  Time and Money.  In fact the poetic, mathematical equation looks something like this

TIME > THAN EXPECTED + AVAILABLE MONEY < THAN REQUIRED = FRIENDS DON’T LET FRIENDS REMODEL

With $2K (I am not exaggerating about that figure) worth of Architectural drawings and Engineer drawings we head to the county to pull our permits to satisfy the red tape of our fair city.

Let the contractors get the permits. If they want to get the contract, let them earn it. Plus, they know the process and the contacts.

Problem is, you’re spoiled with house building in Mexico!

i get to hear the joys of building and rehab, cost and construction, permits and codes, all the time. my husband is an architect.

i like your equation. we were just talking about a similar illustration dealing with contractors quotes and the actual amount you will pay out. the quote was a raft with motor and the pay out was a yacht following in its wake.

i hope the next steps go smoothly for you.

and i know the money can feel tight, but you don’t want to skimp on the contractor; find someone (if you haven’t already) who is reputable.

Planning & Zoning is so over-rated.

As we say in the south, “It sounds like a mess to me.”

The good news is, a car didn’t drive through your house, forcing the remodel!
