We’re rounding third and headed for home.
The sheetrock crew will arrive today and work their magic.
Because of the plaster walls and plaster ceilings and the plethora of holes we decided to put a lid (or cap) on the entire ceiling, patch the walls and new rock in the kitchen.
We decided this because of the thickness difference between the plaster and the new sheetrock.
Our goal all along has been to do such a good job at this that you couldn’t tell that "we" did it.
I debated doing the sheetrock myself but that whole time versus savings thing.
So the rock is going up, the texture is next, Beth will paint and cabinets are next.

“They” say that a test of a good marriage is to build a home. If you want to go all the way and get a divorce, start remodeling. Hang in there.
Cecil is such an encourager.
I know what you mean between doing it yourself and getting it done next year but saving some money (and getting to buy new tools) and having someone else do it (not as well, but they will get it done).
Hope the journey is done soon.
C’mon … I’ve hung, taped and mudded (is that a word? it should be the past tense to the verb, “to mud” but I don’t know) sheet rock with you in Mexico. You can do it!!!
Sounds like a lot of fun!
How do you and Beth do when putting up a Christmas tree together?!?!
So…down the road, will your kids do thier own work or hire it done? Will they say, NEVER try to do it yourself, and here’s why…or will they say, I can totally do this!
So, Randy, not only do you and Beth have to do the work, you have to set a good example while you are working.
No pressure, though…
