I find it curious and interesting that the two things we seem to struggle understanding the most (Salvation and Holy Spirit) are given and received in the exact same way.
Both Salvation and the Holy Spirit are GIFTS given graciously by God and received by FAITH.
Anyone else find that to be an interesting connection?

But that would seem to suggest that they are both outside of my control. I don’t know if I’m comfortable with that.

That is strange because I was taught both were received at the end of step five of “what must I do to be saved?” …

gifted in faith and received in faith…it is a marvelous thing to think about…
its interesting because these are the two that i believe people are actually willing to work for, to earn; whether we fully understand the two or not.

Perhaps free gifts mess with our desire to look for the “strings attached” or to attached them ourselves in the forms of rules and “regs.”

I found this ticket to salvation

and apparently there are 11 required steps.
No mention of the holy spirit. Maybe the holy spirit requires a season pass?
