08 Jan 08 Recycling Solutions

That our recycling is being taken by someone else (who obviously needs it more than we do) is not the issue.

That whoever is taking our recycling keeps coming into our backyard is the issue.

I’m thinking about posting an appropriate bible verse on the side of the fence being used as the point of entry.

Any suggestions?

Deuteronomy 23:24 “When you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, then you may eat grapes until you are fully satisfied, but you shall not put any in your basket.”

Grapes O.K. in the Wray yard but keep away from the recycle bin.

Someone is coming in your backyard and taking your recycling???????? That’s a new one, even for Memphis which pretty much takes the cake for crime!

    Two strategies:

Start leaving random verses on the signs, preferably deep theological ones from Leviticus having to do with such things as mildew, infectious skin diseases, eating forbidden blood. You know, things like, “if the man with the discharge spits on someone who is clean, that person must wash his clothes and bathe with water” or “whoever touches any of the things that a man sits on that were under him will be unclean till evening; whoever picks up those things must wash his clothes and bathe with water.”

If that doesn’t work, start putting labels on your reclyclables that refer to infectious diseases or just start putting the recyclables in a medical waste container.

I can’t think of a Bible verse, but I can think of a phrase that would apply to anyone who would steal recycling stuff.

How about a night vision video camera shot catching them in the act. It’s no Bible verse, but it worked for the mice.
