31 Jan 08 On Strike

It seems that models who pose nude (or as they say in Texas "nked") for art in Italy are one strike.

That’s what CNN says. 

Yes, they want more pay and better working conditions.

Don’t we all.

Maybe we should head up a delegation to visit Italy and check out the plight of these poor workers?

I mean, it is for the advancement of the Arts after all!

   I have officially retired the expression “That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard!” It just gets ridiculouser all the time.

   As one who has modeled for a figure drawing studio in my fellow graduate students’ class, it is difficult work. Especially later in the course when a pose has to be held for 2 hours. I say “unionize”. NAM (Naked Art Models) Local Lady Godiva.

   Luckily I wasn’t a popular model. I was so skinny then that the student’s drawings looked like stick figures.
