Garage

I’m not sure if my condition is heredity or environment.

I cannot abide a messy garage.

And since there are times in a married man’s life that he must abide in the abode of the garage, I prefer the abode in which I abide to be organized.

Perhaps if I drove a Corvette (sorry I blacked out for a second there) I would actually park a vehicle in the garage.

For us, it’s the workout, workshop, video game room.

So my project this extended weekend - now that the house is 99.5% done was to organize the garage.

My strategy was to divide the room into thirds and have the first third as the organized workshop (done) the second third as the workout space (done) and the third third as the video game / free space (yet to be done filled with Christmas stuff).

I feel a blog post coming on about the storing of Christmas related items.

You would have a stroke (or worse) if you saw my garage. I basically have two pathways going through it. One to the side door, the other to the garage door. It’s depressing because I, too, am afflicted with that genetic aberration that needs order and organization.

There’s a Durango and a Mustang in my garage. Once or twice (or this year thrice) a year it serves as a polling place. So it is clean. It is utilized. But it is NOT an abode.

Christmas stuff is in the attic, where it belongs.

Don’t have a garage but a utility shed. It is in an unfinished state but is capable of holding junk, so that’s what it does. If it is ever finished where the upper floor doesn’t let in rain, I’ll move some stuff around and organize it but, until then, it all has to stay on the bottom floor. I don’t really foresee ever organizing it! :)

I attest to your wonderfully clean and organized garages. I stand in awe. Honestly.
