Paperless Office
Dream?
Reality?
Just out of our grasp?
I’ve been trying (not as diligently as I probably could) for the last few years to transition from de-paper to digital.
It just doesn’t seem like I’m making a dent.
Any helpful suggestions?

1. Tell your Elders to take a hike.
2. Announce that all of your sermons will be courtesy of the Holy Spirit as they are delivered to you, paper-less-ly of course.
3. Start looking for a new job courtesy of the paperless Internet.
Your post is timely as my Principal is peeved with the District. Seems in an effort to save paper he sent in our Evaluations printed on the front and back of each sheet of paper. The District despite facing deep cut-backs due a Property Tax Constitutional Amendment that passed recently, kicked the evaluations back stating they needed to be printed on the front of each sheet of paper. Oh, the extra money to do this will come out of our operating budget.
Believe in your dreams!
I’m trying to think what we even use paper for in our church…aha! We pass out activity pages to the kids each week in order to keep them quiet, I mean focused, during the sermon. Otherwise, we pay all our bills online; we have an online database, online project management; we use google spreadsheets & calendars. We really don’t know how to communicate in a way other than email. Those poor Oregon trees just aren’t being affected by us nearly enough.
Stop buying paper.
When you figure it out, let me know.
I like Cecil’s suggestions. I keep old sermons that I printed out so I don’t have to print them again. But small group or individual Bible studies I do with people each week get printed dozens of times.
As far as scanning documents and keeping them, good luck. I don’t have the time for that, though I’m sure it’s a good thing.
