Road Trip

The boy and I are on the road.

We’re driving up north so that I can officiate the wedding of my niece and her beau.

At $4 something a gallon it should be an interesting trip.

I know, I know Brady pays like $14 dollars a gallon but that still doesn’t make me happy about paying $4 something a gallon.

Why is it that higher gas prices elsewhere are supposed to make us feel good?

Hey, I was just complaining. Don’t think I was doing anything noble like trying to make you feel good. Nope, not me.

You know, it’s that thing we’ve always heard about “starving people in ?” We aren’t paying $4 yet, but it’s purt neart there! It cost me $41 to fill up the tank on our little Cobalt the other day. I know, comparatively speaking, that’s less than many pay, but still……………in the real world we used to have, $15 would have overfilled it! :) Have a good time, anyway.

    I’ll show some “Brady-love” here:
I took Brady’s comment as he said, a joining of hands in ($14 a gallon - yikes) protest to the recent surge in gas prices. How high does it have to before we start making drastic changes to our lifestyle?

It’s all relative. Perspective. And it still sucketh!

I hope you’re driving that hybrid by now……..what, you decided against buying it?!

Gas prices are whacked out—but you got to come to our home, sit at our kitchen table and eat triple layer pie.

    It was worth it.

  7. Randy Says:

    Peggy, the pie was delicious.

Zman, we went with the Jetta.

32 MPG baby - Stockton to Grants Pass on one tank (which includes pulling the Siskiyous).

I crossed the line from Georgia into Florida and paid 4.09. I thought it would be that way in all of Florida. Just down the road I saw 3.87. I agree with Greg! This is bad. I also watched the space shuttle launch Saturday. I thought, “What’s he paying per gallon for rocket fuel?” It still doesn’t make me feel better about it.
