S.O.S.
A few months ago our youth guy came to me and told me about a youth group from the Northwest that wanted to come here for a mission trip.
Makes sense.
Places around Stockton feel like Mexico and sound like Mexico.
Considering the price of gas it’s certainly cheaper than driving to Mexico.
So we came up with the idea of Stockton Outreach School.
We have 5 days of projects lined up as we take it to the streets and flex our outreach muscles.
The main project today is mowing lawns for foreclosed homes.
Since we lead the nation with home foreclosures it’s a great and needed task.
The crews will be talking to the neighbors around the foreclosed homes and telling them who we are and why we are out mowing lawns.
Pretty good way to spend a day.

I think it’s a brilliant idea … the type of work / exposure you’ve planned, that is. Mission trip to Stockton? With the economic spiral you are in, who knows what God may do to someone’s heart through teens who give up a week of summer to show others they care!!
Second the Greg-miester - great idea. Would you come with a group to our humble abode if our mission included cutting the grass around Sonny’s?
Groups come from all over the country to do their mission work in that foreign, heathen, un-churched Northwest. So where do the Northwest folks go? Stockton. That’s priceless.
OK, OK, OK… I jumped to your photos to be sure, but you are THE Randy Wray. Too funny. I don’t know if you remember me, but we lived in Honduras together. I was doing a search for your dad’s email address when I came upon your blog. Sorry if I sound a little sketchy, it just caught me off-guard. Especially since you appear to live in Stockton. I live in Shingle Springs and work in Sac. We’re building a hospital in Stockton and I go there every now and then. I’m actually going tomorrow for a lunch meeting.
We will HAVE to get together. Email me (it is in my profile). I’d love to touch base with you.
