CBEST
I learned this week that I passed the CBEST.
I knew I would do well on the reading section. If they could read my writing I knew I would do well on the writing. It was the Math that I was worried about.
So, I focused 90% of my study efforts on the Math and got just enough answers right (on the Math section) to pass.
Don’t worry. I won’t be looking for a Math teaching job anytime soon, so Brother Cecil and Brother Steve have nothing to fear.

Congratulations! I’m proud of ya.
…..but, I’ve led a shelterd life. What’s a CBEST?
I think it would be fun to have you in the department with me. Maybe you and Cecil and I could plant a school somewhere.
I’m up for that Steve and I’ll even “take one for the team” and take all the “gifted classes.”

… i have difficulty passing math sections, usually just barely skating by. i take after my dad this way; another reason that he, too, was an english major. but then he did go on to teach, and he, at one point taught math in a high school—a terrifying thought.
What about the Rev? I feel sort of threatened!
Wow, I have been checked out for too long. Are you changing careers or just planning to augment your current vocation by warping the minds of unsuspecting young people?
