It’s Nostalgia Week

Talk about a gold mine of blog fodder!

I’m going to selectively share some of the treasures my mom saved and gave back to me.

Today’s selection comes from my fifth grade year when it seems I was a published poet.

Everyone in the class submitted a poem - there’s even a poem in there by Jesus!

So take a sip of that latte, adjust your beanie, roll up the neck on the turtleneck and start snapping your fingers . . .

My Ape (by 5th grade Randy)

My ape is late.
My ape is a saint.
My ape is covered with paint.
My ape is in the zoo.
Poor little ape!  Boo-hooo!

That poem made me want to “poo-poo.”

That was great brother. Brought a smile to face. Keep that blog cash cow stuff coming.

Oh, I bet Greg will say you wrote that poem about me.

this poem sounds like a protest poem

but then, i have been listening to early bob dylan a lot the past few days, so everything seems to fit of late.

If there are any more poems, I’m checking out of this blog for a while. Now, let me read some of those sixth grade love letters… I might just come back.
